Hi Robyn, Project Manager at Matogen Digital Robyn !

Thanks so much for putting this together so quickly.

Please can you clarify a detail around the deliverable timeframes? The quote currently states that the content is due by the time dev starts: is this content referring to copy pre SEO edit or does it mean final copy post SEO edit?

The later will mean some very tight deadlines for our team 😬

Morning Jacs,

The finalized content (images and written word) should be ready before development begins. This is a significant task, and we're working on two parallel processes: creating the prototype and developing content that fits within it.

My advice is to start this process as soon as possible based on the existing prototype. The editing and SEO aspects will take time, but we can incorporate those changes later. If the content audit occurs after development starts, it won't be a crisis, but it's important to align it with the prototype.

We've encountered issues in the past where content developed without considering the prototype didn't fit well, leading to design changes. I'm not concerned about this with you, but it's crucial to consider all your content when working on the prototype for flexibility. Once development begins, making significant changes can be more costly.

Think of it like building a house. The blueprints must be submitted for approval. Adding a bathroom after approval requires resubmission and additional costs. Similarly, in development, the site map is the initial concept, the prototype is the detailed plan, and development is the actual construction. Developers need to follow a plan, and changes are easier during the construction phase than afterward.

I hope this clarifies things. Thanks!

Good morning!

Thanks for all that info, definitely helps to clarify things 🤗

We're building copy using the prototype, so our team will write according to screenshots of 'signed off' pages on the prototype. Our aim is to have a good alignment between copy and design even before SEO editing. We've built a centralised system where our team can develop copy and provide feedback in one place, which will hopefully help speed things up. There's nothing like feedback rounds to delay process 🫣

I will give you periodic feedback in the stand ups re the progress of internal copy sign off, so we're all on the same page.

Have a lovely weekend!
