Thanks Robyn, Project Manager at Matogen Digital Robyn ! Yes, David Mundell, Developer at Matogen Digital David , would be great if you can get this set up for us. What we need to do:

  • Set up an empty WordPress site on Local, and install WP Migrate
  • Install WP Migrate on the Research for Impact site
  • Create a new WordPress application on Cloudways and get a copy of the site up there as well.
    • Use the existing Dev server: https://unified.cloudways.com/apps/
    • Once the dev site is up, create an alias, e.g. r4i.storiesandscience.co.za, and add that as an A record on our CloudFlare account. Point it to the website's IP address. Make this alias the primary domain.
    • You should have received an invite via email; please let me know if you don't see anything in your inbox
    • Please check the box under settings to discourage search engines from indexing the site.
  • Set up a git repo for the project, including a dev and main branch. For this project, we are not building the whole site; our work will be contained in a plugin. It might make sense to only have the plugin code in the repo.

Once this is all set up, do the following:
  • From what I recall, the theme on this website uses Bootstrap as well. If it doesn't, we'll need to check the existing stylesheet and see if we can make use of it, or write our own CSS from scratch. Check what's there and make the call.
  • Create a basic plugin and check that you can get it working.
  • Then have a look at the XD file :)
  • You will notice the infographic is very similar to what we have on ARUA. You're welcome to reuse that code, and I'd be happy to talk you through it.
