One thing we realized in our User Gateway Group meeting today is that it would be great to have a "Website Feedback" form in the footer of the new website. Especially upon the launch of the website, we'd like to have the ability for users to fill out the feedback form on the bottom of the page so that we can start collecting comments about what people are unable to find on the new site, if anything. It's probably easiest at this point to put something in the footer, but perhaps you have a magic way of sticking something at the bottom of each page that ISN'T the footer.
Our current site has this feature at the bottom of the page. For example, if you scroll to the bottom of this page, you'll see a "Submit feedback on this content" expandable menu that opens a form: https://www.msi.umn.edu/content/data-storage. This form emails it to a specific section of our helpdesk. It would be really useful to have a similar feature on the new site, where it asks for their email and feedback. It might also be helpful to grab the URL of the page they are on, if possible, so that we can match up the feedback with the pages people are submitting the form on.

- the feedback form is in place, but I haven't set up an email forwarder yet. I've asked Sarah where we should send these form submissions. You'll see a button at the bottom of every page.

Thanks

, I see the button here top left, is that intended? Was wondering if it makes sense to have it in the same line with the social links? Next to the twitter Icon, which we should probably change to the X icon
Laura
thanks! Yup, I wasn't sure what would be best. I'll move it in line with the first column in the footer.

Thanks, let me know when I can take a look. Might be worth also add the button styling you see on the other buttons in the footer. I think the inconsistent button styling may be a bit weird

I don't think adding this to the social links space in the footer is visible enough to serve the purpose it needs to here?
think I realise what you are saying now - so move it to the right vs adding it next to the social buttons! Please confirm haha

location aside, the form is picking up yellow outline blocks visually for me
