I have made some updates to the calendars. The page reload loop has stopped. It is still not working 100% like my local environment but is in a much better state.
Robyn
I have created a task for this one - I am exhausted, I have emailed the client with where we are at. Services page is a primary convo for next week - I am not nearly done with sprint planning yet but will get myself organised this weekend / early on Tuesday -
Robyn
another news link lurking - I dont know where else this may be but will need to do a full run through next week once the calendars are up
Robyn
Robyn
Thanks Dave, you are the best,
David M.
might need to clear the cache
David M.
Robyn Robyn
, I replaced the missing images with images that were on the live site
Robyn
Appreciate the last minute support here
David Mundell David
 such a champ
Robyn
Thanks Dave 😭
David M.
I will update those images
David M.
Robyn Robyn
, I quickly updated the news link
Robyn
The news link is the menu is not working - I think its another gap too
Robyn
I am also seeing that the images are broken on experts that were not broken before - we should have tested everything after your push ? Or do you think this is something else now?
Robyn
Robyn
I think I got confused with the section on the home page MSI services
Robyn
Ian Parsons Ian
Dave and I spoke - the calendars have gone wonky as you know - I am also not sure that your changes fixed up the home page excerpts / if that was supposed to be fixed - never the less Dave added some content so it looks right but we need to check this next week - I have also picked up a gap, running through the site to be sure and found this whole section that we have not done yet :( It was not briefed in basecamp, I picked up on it early January but it fell off again. We had two hours allocated to this and we called MSI services page but all those red blocks on the home page link to this new template so I think we had a miss here and it was missed again when we checked in December - its my fault for not seeing this till now  :( there's new tables and all those tabs on the home page have a new template underneath - I am dying right now but its a massive gap https://xd.adobe.com/view/6203a662-6367-493c-88c0-3090751c3d1e-3750/screen/302ca4a0-e6c9-4835-9887-6d594b5da80d/
David M.
Update: I am not seeing the reload loop on local. I pushed some debug information that will hopefully load in the next 10 minutes
David M.
Yes its infinite loop. I am going though the code on my local to see why its not doing that
Robyn
right, thought I hit a wobble haha - thanks guys
Ian P.
Yup, the page is reloading in an infinite loop.
David M.
I dont think its your code
David M.
I am seeing the console logs but my fix does contain a few page reloads. I have a feeling its something to do with my code. Its works on my local but I go latest from DEV.
David M.
I have since deployed again to see if a delay will fix the issue
Ian P.
David Mundell David
it looks like my alphabetical-filter.js is causing an issue there - is that what you're seeing as well?
David M.
Thanks
Robyn Robyn
, I pushed the fix that was working on my local and it seem be redirecting the page constantly. I am looking into the issue at the moment. It will happen on events and tutorials
Ian P.
Is it just on this one page?
Robyn
David Mundell David
Ian Parsons Ian
I am guessing you know already but the calendars are wigging out on MSI - I thought it might be my connection but it seems the calendars are not happy.  I wanted to reach past events and struggled to do anything on the page. Other pages do not seem to be doing it https://vimeo.com/1076341571/8e8fbe8970?share=copy
Robyn
the next convo will hopefully be a quick one too
Robyn
Yes, we figured this out on our call
Ian P.
This is what we want - only users logged in on their umn.edu accounts should be able to complete the form. You can try it out by logging into your munde026 account on Gmail
David M.
David M.
okay great
Robyn
sure
David Mundell David
 I am happy to chat
David M.
Robyn Robyn
if you have a moment can we have a call to go through the ticket I want to make sure I am understanding it correctly. This would be for the forms part of the ticket
David M.
David M.
I am now going to investigate what is happening with the App Script. if the forms have it or if we should be adding it. COMSOL calendar is populated
David M.
David M.
I have added the forms onto DEV. I think we still have a permissions issue: https://msi.dev.umn.edu/software-calendars-and-purchase-requests however the embedded code is showing
David M.
I think it was a cache issue. Every time I saved it would break. Eventually the whole site broke on local. I used "ddev drush cr" and I haven't had an issue since. I also reinstalled my module and now its working properly on local and DEV.
Ian P.
You can disable it on Local
Ian P.
This module contains a script to migrate paragraph content from intro_and_image fields to introduction_paragraph fields.
Ian P.
Can you describe what happened?
Robyn
Great, keep me posted Dave !
David M.
David M.
I did it on local first so this part is quick. my next section is the forms and appscript
David M.
At this moment I reinstalled the calendar and the block and its seems to be working now. I am currenlty populating the dropdown at the moment
Robyn
Hi
David Mundell David
so other than overwritten work, everything else is okay and you can move forward?
David M.
After clearing cache. it seemed to fix everything on my side. This is the same issue I had on DEV earlier
David M.
It broke my local when I tired to save
David M.
David M.
this one
David M.
Ian Parsons Ian
I ran into another issue and it seems related to a module called MSI paragraph migration. This is the file that gave me the issue earlier.  And again now when I tried to save: The website encountered an unexpected error. Try again later.
Drupal\Core\Extension\Exception\UnknownExtensionException: The module msi_paragraph_migration does not exist.
David M.
Update on MSI Calendar. I see after yesterdays update it has removed my data from the module. I am also not seeing the module in the navigation. I got it working on local. I needed to reinstall it. I took the time to remove the weight section since I added the drag and drop functionality. After DEV has taken its time to deploy I will reinstall the plugin and populate the calendars. Then try the embedded code with the forms. I have added all the forms to my Matogen calendar in order to create the combined forms.

I've merged our code. No conflicts :) Would you check that everything is displaying correctly on your sections, please?

just reading what you are saying here again as I prepare to email MSI - Jaime gave us this information - she was the one that said the assets included google appscripts so why do you say they dont have this in place? Is it not shared or is Jaime confused?
Robyn
Thanks
Ian Parsons Ian
 !
Ian P.
I'm free to chat now. Did we ask them for Google Apps Scripts? They definitely do not have those in place; we need to write those
Robyn

David Mundell David
please can you guys connect about this today and let me know what i should ask MSI if anything "These assets include
* Google calendars for some of the licenses
* Google forms
* Google Appscripts that read from the forms and create calendar entries"  Nothing meeting with more details from Dave https://www.notion.so/matogen-digital/15b3bb3d2d20807089d6fc3253d2cb09?v=15b3bb3d2d208060aa97000cf7b5f92d&p=1d13bb3d2d20800d98aee91c9e7273cc&pm=s

I will continue loading on Thursday, I will redo this one and if it happens again we go back to it

not sure but it broke as soon as I loaded this one

I changed it to HPC Interactive Tutorial

Its the same name as one of their services

the tag i added is HPC Interactive

Please move onto the other issues

I have a feeling it has to do with the tag I added for the topic which is why its isolated to this one

for this one I am struggling to replicate. I will see what I can do:

no worries, I will log a ticket for you - just wanted to alert you in case you were working on something

We seem to be missing a feature - tasks incoming for you
Robyn
David M.
Robyn Robyn
after investigating, the tutorials are not honoring the year just the month. I will look into this. It might be a bug that was introduced when I adding past events. The JavaScript issue is not happening for me on local. I will have to test that one to see what is happening on DEV
David M.
I see the JS is not firing when the page is loaded I will look into that
David M.
David M.
Oh I see that is the  date is not updating let me see if that is cache
Robyn
so is that what you were showing here?
Robyn
Past Tutorials will be visible in the past when you filter

you called these past tutorials, was that just because you were loading something in the past or does it mean something here?

No it should be fine I will do that right now

Thanks, yes please - do you need a task?
David M.
Hi
Robyn Robyn
, you can find it here: https://msi.dev.umn.edu/tutorial I should add it to the menu and remove the old one
Robyn
I am seeing the old page and wondering if your work has been overwritten - please let me know asap -
Robyn
David Mundell David
I am not seeing the latest Tutorial work that you did Dave, I am finding a template - please share the link with me / confirm that something has not gone wrong here

Robyn
Thanks Dave, I have told the client how we still it happening so will confirm asap - will also forward the email for context
David M.
According to the design the text on the page is asking the user to pick from the dropdown
David M.
How I imagined the calendar working in my prep was for it to default to the first option in the dropdown list.
Robyn
I am unsure about the tutorial content they provided too so asking about that
Robyn
busy with the email to them now
Robyn
yes great, same page here
Ian P.
Yes that makes sense for the page to link to the software calendar page. I don't know if it makes sense for the dropdown to default to "Comsol"  specifically, but it will probably default to the first option in the dropdown list
Robyn
its an addition at the bottom
Robyn
Robyn
software page that you are building
Ian P.
On which page is that?
Robyn
there's placeholder copy and a link to the software calendar
Robyn
on the screenshot - THis is the H2 title for a full width content block
Ian P.
Which little section are you talking about
Robyn Robyn
 ?
Robyn
👆 going to get the client to confirm so rolling with this
Robyn
I had a look at the video and the prototype changed after the video and Laura was the only one in that meeting so we are flying blind
Robyn
That makes sense right?
Robyn
I need to request content for this little section and then when you click on the link it takes you to the software overview page that is defaulted to the first one comsol and the user will then navigate to what they want https://xd.adobe.com/view/6203a662-6367-493c-88c0-3090751c3d1e-3750/screen/6ae796b2-79bc-4f7d-8944-4ee0a9d3051e/

I let the MSI peeps know we are aiming for mid April and Jim said he wants the site by the 14th of April - I had 18th in mind, not for this week obviously but heads up - I am making sure we can fit it in but we need to try and get as much done for SGD this week so we can move onto MSI next week
Robyn
Dave asked me what I tested and he did the same - I double checked and it is working - definitely just the cache
Ian P.
Robyn Robyn
are you still seeing the same issue? I just want to rule out the possibility that you and
David Mundell David
are testing in different waysor on different elements.
David M.
Great !

YAY, we can move on then - thank you!
David M.
I also flushed the cache now

David M.
I grabbed the first article and managed to select it. I will share screenshots here

OKay great I will test

I tried news - hopefully just cache

or same content type
David M.
Hey
Robyn Robyn
. it is working for me at the moment. what page are you trying to add an image to? I want to test the same page
David M.
Okay sure I will try on my end
Robyn
thank you!
Robyn
David Mundell David
heads up that I checked the MSI issue, did a cache-buster but not able to search and add an image yet - its possible the hot fix was for something else or I am stuck with a cache problemo - please can I ask that you check if its working on your side - if not, we need to add it back to our queue / find out from the university if its a global issue or just our issue
Robyn
David Mundell David
heads up - I have not checked but would guess this is related to the upgrade or maybe a temp glitch
Robyn
David M.
Yes she will need to add images and content for the "intro and image" section
Robyn
Robyn
also the images will pull through when added ?
Robyn
Thanks,
David Mundell David
I can still ask her if she needs anything else but with this in place it ticks the request she had?
David M.
which is there now
David M.
Yes the ones that she added was Knowledge based links
Robyn
so we know? or am I missing something]
Robyn
she gave us this 'Im trying to add the following three links to the landing page as links, but none of them are showing up when I try and enter them in the "landing page links" section. (The 'bioref' one does, but it's an old version of the page we don't want to use).

Ian P.
Robyn Robyn
let's also check which pages Sarah tried to add, and confirm which content types they used
David M.
I would also need to test each one to make sure it works correctly
David M.
Yes I am not sure what they generally use these landing pages for however I would assume using: The new knowledge base, Research and Software could be good additions
Robyn
ok, so we still need the content types? If so what do you suggest for this part?
David M.
Every time I tried to add the links the page broke
David M.
No this was an issue that was breaking the page when I added the links Sarah provided
Robyn
so the bug was the issue and we don't need to consider these content types?
David Mundell David

David M.
When adding the new articles it would break the page every time
David M.
I found a bug.  When there is no content in "intro and image" inside the linked articles then the page is temporally unavailable. once I added random content that fixed the issue
Robyn
Thanks
Ian Parsons Ian
going to need some support on this one
David Mundell David
I am out of my depth to make a good suggestion here
Ian P.
The purpose of these fields is to structure a whole bunch of links on a page. We use some content types to structure other pages, and they are not used on their own, e.g. Experts. Others are unlikely to be needed, e.g. User bulletins.
Robyn
Ian Parsons Ian
you are right, I am not clear on how it all comes together  I was shown how to load content and the rest has happened adhoc through conversation .  Why don't we make all of the content types available or are they not all suitable for this?
Ian P.
Robyn Robyn
David Mundell David
I think you're misunderstanding how this works. The field that Sarah is trying to use allows her to select existing posts. The way it is set up now, only some of the different content types are available. Any posts that use a different content type won't be available for her to select.

We should decide which additional content types we should make available in those fields.

Is this making sense?
Robyn
David Mundell David
I cannot see what the original intent was for this - its not clear on the old prototype so I am not sure, I think we should activate Basic content -  looking at the links she wants to add, I think a basic content structure would serve the purpose. Once done I can ask her to check that she has what she needs  Please let me know what you think and if we need more than basic ?
David M.
Great lets chat in the meeting
Ian P.
Robyn Robyn
David Mundell David
would you consider which content types we should make available in those sections, please, and then activate the relevant ones. Here's the place to do it: https://msi.umn.edu/admin/structure/paragraphs_type/image_h3_content_33/fields/paragraph.image_h3_content_33.field_landing_page_links
Ian P.
Ian P.
The issue is that not all content types are currently available in those links sections
Robyn
David Mundell David
I am going to guess this is also related to an update of sorts - Sarah from MSI is struggling to load her stuff - see here "

Hi Ian and Robyn,

Quick question that you might know the answer to. The other day I made a new landing page and published it: https://msi.umn.edu/our-resources/knowledge-base/bioinformatics-guides

I'm trying to add the following three links to the landing page as links, but none of them are showing up when I try and enter them in the "landing page links" section. (The 'bioref' one does, but it's an old version of the page we don't want to use).

Do you know why they wouldn't be showing up in that lookup? They are all published content pages.

Thanks,
Sarah

I am not seeing flags in the backend like with GEMS so can you take look at this issue and let me know what you find - I am not sure about look ups so have not tried to do more than check the page where I see nothing  - Thank you
Robyn
Thanks so much
Ian Parsons Ian

Ian P.
I looked a bit deeper
Robyn Robyn
and saw the software pages blocked by robots.txt. We did that when we had a spike in traffic last year, and it turned out it was AI bots crawling the site. I'll remove the block; I don't think it's needed anymore.
Ian P.
And no, they should be indexed
Ian P.
Why do you think it's the software pages?
Robyn
Ian Parsons Ian
I have done a quick check of the indexing issue flagged by Sarah (search console report) https://search.google.com/search-console/index?resource_id=https://msi.umn.edu/&utm_source=wnc_20237597&utm_medium=gamma&utm_campaign=wnc_20237597&utm_content=msg_110624660&hl=en It looks like the software pages which I assume is intentional? Please confirm for me, I'd like to let Sarah know that its okay and that we get a copy of these reports as well - thank you
Robyn
David Mundell David
I have done some more testing on the stuff that is done, I will pick up anything you do from the 19th through to the 20th when I am back in the office on the 6th - I have left Ian with the follow up on extra budget to cater for the tasks that have been parked but not sure we'll have an answer before you go  - thank you!
Robyn
No probs, I will hold off on testing more until your changes are live - thank you
David M.
Hey
Robyn Robyn
, I am about to push some changes to DEV. I want to give the the heads up first.
Ian P.
These are the items we need to get approved by MSI team before we do more:
- News
- Events
- Research spotlight
- Tutorials
Robyn
David Mundell David
Laura Hurley Laura
I will comment on the task as well but heads up that we have approval on the tags and we have approval on doing maintenance "Sarah and I met regarding these issues, and we approve of your handling of tags in item #1, and also approve of your testing required by the University for our site in item #2." Thanks team!
Laura H.
Sounds good!
Robyn
no probs at all, I am including you so you will see how I am doing it. xx its about the change we made to make it clear vs we are not sure x
Laura H.
Hey
Robyn Robyn
 - I did discuss the clickable vs not clickable tags with Jim and Sarah on all posts and views - but think we should definitely close the loop based on the latest visual edit which makes it very clear which are clickable vs which are not. But I think that's what you're saying, sorry foggy brain here (and sorry for the late input!)
Robyn
Laura Hurley Laura
with your blessing, I'd like to reach out and mention the tag update which should uncover any crossed wires ?
Robyn
Clickable tag pills for news/events. - reading this literally - I am happy to move on but want to be sure so think we can approach it by showing them the update we made to tags to define what is clickable vs not - they should tell us if thats incorrect - let me know if you are happy with this and we can try it this way around
Ian P.
In general, I think it's always better to clarify with the client than not
Ian P.
Robyn Robyn
what are you reading in this description that is not covered by Laura's design and the functionality we discussed?
Robyn
Laura Hurley Laura
Ian Parsons Ian
I am working through the quote trying to match the tasks and timing accurately - I am seeing the original request for the tag pills is this " Create category page layouts and add links from tag-pill categories to view all posts in that categoryClickable tag pills for news/events. Clickable tag pills for software that leads to software page sorted by that category (for example, “AI/Deep Learning” tag pill that when clicked, would show all software tagged with “AI/Deep Learning” tag) " I know you have gone over the prototype and the client is happy but wanted to check if we should maybe just double check this with them -we can show them the change we made to tags and approach it that way  - what do you think? Unnecessary?
Ian P.
Ian P.
For MSI, let's focus on getting the events page in line with what we have on DSI at the moment. I'll look into how the plugin works and whether we'd be able to use it.
Robyn
Robyn
Robyn
Ian Parsons Ian
we are obviously working on events to be the same as DSI here - should we consider the module shared in the meantime and see how that works and can be used going forward?
David M.

David M.
Okay I see. Great I will push my changes to main and deploy. Thank you
Ian P.
David Mundell David
yes, you may need to pull to dev and main first; all of those changes are already on prod
David M.
David M.
Hey
Ian Parsons Ian
, I am ready to deploy the changes for the editable images on the home page. My changes are on DEV branch I would like to take it to the Main brach and then publish. Are these changes on DEV safe to go on Main and to be published:

The HTML must of snuck in with a text editor or an app like that

Hey Lau, I mean you mentioned this on Thursday last week, not sure if it was dev or production - either way it seems like the same issue you flagged last week
Laura H.
Robyn Robyn
🙌 I spotted this at 7h30 this morning, not sure if that's before or after roll-out
Robyn
Laura Hurley Laura
confirm that you spotted this on production prior to the roll-out so its unrelated to the new roll-out? :)

The clean MSI database is now on prod :) msi.umn.edu. Please let me know if you spot any gremlins!

Dankie!

This work is done - I double checked all the content types in case and we are sorted for all
Ian Parsons Ian
 you may push the changes

Yes, we should match dev with what is on production. You can ignore all the software nodes, though.
Robyn
I have started this content load and question for you
Ian Parsons Ian

Ian P.
Robyn Robyn
I agree we should add this to our task list, but note this is not part of our project scope. We will need to give Sarah and Jim an estimate for this work, or move it to the back of the queue; then we can tackle it if we have budget left

Thanks

once Ian has done his code clean up, one of our tasks will be working through all the stuff being flagged by the accessibility flagger - there's a bunch of issues when you login that I believe we can look at and decide if its something that needs to be fixed -

our staging does not include stg.umn.edu so wanted to check

I am testing MSI and workng through the testing recommendations provided on the task - I see that testing needs to happen on staging - they speak about staging being quite specific so can I assume that our dev space is fine for this test ? https://it.umn.edu/services-technologies/resources/testing-rubric-drupal-updates
Laura H.
Thanks
Robyn Robyn
, let's have a chat on Friday. I'll have a look over the info and if I have any questions we can do a quick chat after stand-up if that works
Robyn
Laura Hurley Laura
I have given you a new Prototype for MSI - working through all the tasks on the list and the prototype should be first for us to get this work signed off before we dive into tasks - this will obviously delay us a bit as I had not added that to your pipeline till now - I have given you all the phase 2 comments on the proposal but do let me know if you want to chat about anything - it was a long time ago we built this list
Robyn
Ian Parsons Ian
I would like to schedule some stand-ups with MSI - 1. are you happy for me to move forward with biweekly stand-ups starting from October? 2. I'd like to suggest Tuesdays at 15h30 (daylight savings is going to change this soon so we'll land with a 16h30 meeting instead of 5pm, it might not work but we can try?
Robyn
Ian Parsons Ian
please don;t be out till 12 August haha :)
Robyn
Thanks
Ian Parsons Ian
 !
Ian P.
Robyn Robyn
a quick note – we can copy over the DSI events functionality to MSI - in response to Sarah's email
Robyn
Hi Ian, sure
Ian P.
I'll have to go back to the database and adjust my approach. Can I ask you to send me a list of affected URLs so far?
Ian P.
Thanks for testing, julle. You can stop now. Unfortunately I won't be able to restore content one by one - there's a risk that we won't catch all of the affected pages.
Laura H.
Thanks ,
Robyn Robyn
 - I also noted a few excerpts missing on the home page. I'm adding any discrepancies I see to the testing list you created
Robyn
it looks like the experts page is missing completely - if you go in via the menu at the top its not taking you to the experts, its linked to another space - I created at ticket for this one in basecamp and made you a follower
Laura H.
Just to note I flushed my cache and hard refreshed and can see the same as Robs
Laura H.
Yah! that looks wonky..
Robyn
I went to check the live site and Our Experts is definitely adversely affected
Ian Parsons Ian

Robyn
Laura Hurley Laura
I dont recall what's supposed to happen with experts but this feels like something is missing?
Robyn
Robyn
Robyn
Thanks so much! its working like magic!
Ian Parsons Ian

Robyn
in the meeting - pleases join
Ian P.
Ian P.
Click into each one, and you'll see a Test menu option
Ian P.
Ah, no worries - here are all the forms: https://msi.umn.edu/admin/structure/webform
Robyn
Robyn
Robyn
I can only find a contact form and that's not it - should I be on dev or production?
Robyn
cool, will login and dig around, I have never tested this way but guessing its simple when logged in
Ian P.
Robyn Robyn
you should be able to test from the backend - with the Test functionality?
Robyn
Ian Parsons Ian
👆
Robyn
Robyn
I can only test the website feedback form - the other forms are not enabled yet Or?
Robyn
on it! Thanks Ian
Ian P.
I'll send Sarah a quick email to let her know as well
Ian P.
Robyn Robyn
I found the issue that was breaking webforms on MSI. I've now enabled all of the email handlers again; would you send through a couple of tests, please? Note - not all of them have an email going to the submitter - for now it's just important that all of the forms submit successfully.
Robyn
They all work, feedback form and all the helpdesk forms, don't recall any other forms so we just need to update the get in touch in the footer which is going to dev :)
Ian Parsons Ian

Robyn
it works when i go to the helpdesk in the top menu
Robyn
and its definitely going to the dev site
Robyn
"get in touch " in the footer takes you to the help desk
Robyn
and then picked the first general option
Robyn
i clicked on the help desk link in the footer
Robyn
ah well spotted, I definitely started on the main site
Ian P.
Thanks Robs - the url shows it's on the dev site. Can you remember which link you clicked to get to the helpdesk? It's possible there's still an incorrect link somewhere that's taking you to dev
Robyn
Robyn
but the first help desk ticket bombed
Robyn
my website feedback form worked a charm
Ian P.
dankie!
Robyn
:)
Robyn
op it soon
Ian P.
Robyn Robyn
 - would you please test all of the webforms on msi.umn.edu, and check that you're receiving an email with all of the correct details. I've quickly built an email forwarder, because it looks like all the email handlers are breaking the form submissions :/
Robyn
Ian Parsons Ian
have you managed to check the MSI costing?
Ian P.
We're not making progress with DORS. The program codes we're using are not pulling in any courses. Sarah created some dummy courses now so that we can test; waiting back to hear from the Drupal team on this.
Robyn
only happening when the team is logged in
Robyn
How's the DORs integration coming along?
Robyn
Ian Parsons Ian
just noting the scroller issue for you. MSI experts
Robyn
No probs, my only concern is that you / I did not know what all of the tasks were and the details that are there are all I know so if we are happy to thumb suck and add what we think it is, we can do it this way around
Ian P.
I think we can do a cost estimate and then share it with them Robyn
Robyn

Add-on services
Much of the functionality on the website is to provide access to stakeholders and facilitate usage of MSI’s services. These currently exist as modules added to the site. As part of a Phase 2 project, we intend to develop standalone web apps for these functions, including: the Principal Investigator dashboard, creation of research groups, and temporary class accounts. We will need to decide how to manage these components once the new website is live, and while Phase 2 is in development.

The project scope below may not be a complete picture, as the site is quite big. We would like to do an in-depth audit of all of the site content and functionality, and we will work with the MSI team to prioritise these for the new site.
Robyn
for reference this is what we said on our phase 1 proposal
Robyn
Ian Parsons Ian
apologies  for all the messages - this is the list I pulled together yesterday - shall we share it like this without cost and see what they say or are you keen to get it off the ground including costs and full proposal? I left the PI dashboard goodies in green and not sure how this comes together with 'cold front' which I think was the framework / way they were going to go about the PI's and subsequent apps?
Robyn
Ian Parsons Ian
just making sure you have it on your list - respond to Sarah about the contract
Robyn
Robyn
hectic! 😅 we conquered that beast!
Ian P.

Sure
Robyn Robyn
happy to press on with training while you get on with the Zulu books
Robyn
Hi
Ian Parsons Ian
&
Laura Hurley Laura
I still have a lot of zulu books to load - do you mind if I skip the training session and keep going on this instead? If you need me, I will join you but suspect my time is better spent on the books?
Robyn
Hello
Ian Parsons Ian
did you manage to log this gremlin with the Drupal mense ? :)
Laura H.
Many many boxes... 👀
Robyn
old tiffany wolf and co haha
Robyn
defos!! x
Laura H.
Sorry was on a call! I really hope they can fix it! Lots of effort to resolve each PI link 🙏🤞
Ian P.
:) I've asked the Drupal guy to fix it for us.
Robyn
should we attempt to fix or hold off for now?
Robyn
eish, that does not feel like a quick fix, we spent long time on those
Ian P.
yes - I'm seeing the same thing. Something somewhere made them go whack :)
Robyn
they were right at some point but see dev also has this weirdness going on
Robyn
oh noooo -is that not to do with the archive?
Ian P.
Laura Hurley Laura
Robyn Robyn
I found the source for those weird 404 errors - it looks like all the PI links on news posts are broken 😭

Laura H.
Sure Ian, will send in a mo
Ian P.
Laura Hurley Laura
would you send me a favicon for MSI, please?
Laura H.
Looking so fab team! 🤗
Robyn
yay! Small list of issues that we can work through but yay, thanks Ian!
Ian P.
We did it! 🙌 🙌 🙌 🙌 🙌 🙌
Ian P.
Thanks so much, Robs. Also giving the site a once-over now
Robyn
Have a great evening!
Robyn
Right peeps, happy to check more tomorrow but all looks great to me !
Robyn
i also checked out the main pages and menu items
Robyn
Ian Parsons Ian
I did a quick spot check on the posts to make sure redirects worked and tested all the forms - I think we are good! I will pick up again tomorrow - going to log off soon
Robyn
all the forms work like a dream
Ian P.
We have liftoff! https://msi.umn.edu/
Laura H.
Ahh, dang! Hope they can get it sorted out soon!
Robyn
📢 just when we think its happening haha
Ian P.
Update: The Drupal team is having some trouble changing the DNS records, so they can't launch the site. They've escalated it to someone else - will report back if I hear anything
Ian P.
So that means Ben is working on it :)
Ian P.
Good sign - msi.prd.umn.edu redirects to msi.umn.edu
Ian P.
Yup! I think it will take some time - I'll keep looking and ping you if I see something
Robyn
i keep looking to see if its up yet but guessing we will get an email!
Ian P.
Same here! super exciting
Robyn
let me put my comments in a more appropriate channel haha cannot believe the day has come
Robyn
Righteo, all the links that were flagged for me to check are done - we are ready people!
Robyn
Thanks so much
Ian P.
Ian P.
let's chat quickly?
Ian P.
These are the 6 wildcard redirects:
- /news/*
- /event/*
- /research/*
- /sw/*
- /bulletin/*
- /tutorials/*
Robyn
that one redirected to the new site link
Robyn
Robyn
hang on let me try again
Robyn
Ian P.
Any individual redirect that matches one of the wildcard patterns will not work. They won't break the site anymore, but they will go to the wildcard redirect and show a 404 page
Robyn
they are working so you may ignore my message!
Robyn
Ian Parsons Ian
can I check the research posts or are they part of the problem you are not fixing today?
Ian P.
I'm going to let the MSI and Drupal teams know we're ready to launch.
Laura H.
Ok cool! no probs, we can look anytime. Shout 🤩 Just gonna get some lunch in now
Ian P.
Did you see my note about the conflicts between the wildcard and individual redirects? I think we can find a workaround for these, but I think we can tackle that tomorrow.
Ian P.
That sounds good
Laura H.
It a pleasure! :D There were one or two that already had redirects, so content from different places going to the same link on the new site, and a few new pages.. :)
Ian P.
Big appreciation, dankie Laura.
Laura H.
Ian Parsons Ian
Robyn Robyn
I'm done adding the redirects 💪
Ian P.
Robyn Robyn
please give it a few minutes before testing again.
Ian P.
Alrighty, I've fixed the bug, but we still have a conflict between the wildcard redirects and some of the individual ones that you added,
Laura Hurley Laura
. I won't be able to fix that today still, but there should only be a handful of them.
Robyn
so happy its not another mistake on my side 😊
Ian P.
I'm looking for a fix now.
Ian P.
Robyn Robyn
it looks like it's happening when there's a conflict between
Laura Hurley Laura
's individual redirect rules and my wildcard ones.
Ian P.
Let me check
Robyn
getting this for most of my checks including Lau's simple ones so dont think its me
Robyn
Robyn
Hey Ian, have you done the redirects for research - struggling with those as well - sorry! getting a site error - unexpected error vibes
Robyn
Got it, thanks so much
Ian P.
Robyn Robyn
on the spreadsheet there are one-to-one redirects - most of them. Then there are wildcard redirects - all the ones that end with *.

Only the wildcard redirects will work with a variety of URLs with the same patterns. The one-to-one redirects are the ones that Laura are adding. If they are checked in her column, they should work, but they will only apply to that single redirect. They are similar but not related to the wildcard ones. \
Robyn
and now it works haha
Robyn
and see it that way on the site for bulletin too - sorry about the brain farts!
Robyn
ignore, i see when you click through it says event so we are good
Robyn
also, just to note that events on the doc is with an 's' so is that okay? Its events on the production site too https://www.msi.umn.edu/events
Robyn
is what is on the doc for user bulletins
Robyn
Robyn
okay great, that's what it is on the doc hence I went with that - still good?
Ian P.
I'm redirecting /bulletin/ to /our-resources/users-bulletin/ . It looks like you're trying to redirect from /content/users-bulletin/
Robyn
Robyn
So the user bulletin individual posts are also wild cards? if so do they work the same as I am not getting them up - probably something silly on my side this is what i put in msi.dev.umn.edu/content/users-bulletin/msi-users-bulletin-march-2024
Ian P.
Laura Hurley Laura
I've updated email addresses on the webforms.
Ian P.
Dankie Robs!
Robyn
events and news wildcards are perfect thanks Ian
Ian P.
Lekker :)
Robyn
thank you
Robyn
now it works! haha
Ian P.
The https:// part is fine, by the way - it's just the www. that causes the issue
Ian P.
Robyn Robyn
for events, the redirect is from /event/event-name to /news-and-events/events/event-name. To test, you need to remove the 's' in 'events'
Robyn
Ian P.
Ok - what's the URL that is not redirecting?
Robyn
Robyn
Robyn
no probs
Robyn
sorry I keep pasting with the https but have removed it from my tests
Ian P.
Send me an example please?
Robyn
https://msi.dev.umn.edu/events/software-carpentry-introduction-latexc- my first event worked but none of the following ones so far - am I being dof or is it not working?
Robyn
I checked the first page of news posts and they are all fine so its okay to assume the rest will be fine
Ian Parsons Ian

Ian P.
The internet sees www.sitename/ and sitename/ as two different sites, unless you specify that they are the same site. On our dev environments, we haven't specified this, so anything with www. will break
Laura H.
Ian P.
Robyn Robyn
if the URL starts with www., it will break.
Robyn
the last one is the link that should redirect to the one i shared first but no cigar - I did it the same as the tedx example
Robyn
Robyn
me again - where should I put the ones that I think are not working post wise? https://msi.dev.umn.edu/news-and-events/msi-news/april-6-outage
Ian P.
Do we have a page on the new site for PIs? That's where the redirect should go. We can't handle redirects that point to a different site
Laura H.
Left another comment on the archive line for you
Ian Parsons Ian

Robyn
Got it! Thanks so much
Ian P.
Robyn
ahh its a news post
Ian P.
Is that an event or news post?
Ian P.
I think you can use the <front> tag
Robyn
Ian Parsons Ian
I am also stuck on the wild card redirects - here's the one you showed me - what am I missing https://msi.dev.umn.edu/tedxminneapolis-talk-msi-pi-christy-haynes
Laura H.
Ian Parsons Ian
in row 18 the redirect goes to the home page which doesn't have a / extension... how should I create those?
Laura H.
Yea! that would be great, just add a comment and say: "not working"
Robyn Robyn
 Thanks!
Robyn
Lau, I am finding one that does not work, how can I let you know? Should I just add it to the column next to checked or what is best for you?
Robyn
I checked the Quick start guides Lau and its defos working as expected! xx
Robyn
Checking shortly Lauskie x
Ian P.
Just to mention again - anything we do today on MSI should be on dev
Laura H.
Please check out the first few
Ian Parsons Ian
Robyn Robyn
and let me know if I'm on the right track?
Laura H.
Robyn
Robyn
great, shall we chat at 11?
Ian P.
A little bit of a trick - I can show you when you have a gap
Robyn
If there's a special way of doing this please let me know - my plan would be to go to the spreadsheet and check which ones and click on them to make sure they work?
Robyn
no probs Ian -
Ian P.
Robyn Robyn
would you be able to do some testing on redirects? Doesn't need to be right now
Laura H.
Will do! I'll let you know if things start lagging
Ian P.
Dankie! There are lots - let me know if you need me to help get them done quickly.
Laura H.
Ok cool. I can add the ones without wildcard no probs :) will get ont hat in the next 5 min
Ian P.
I got the redirects :)
Ian P.
Laura Hurley Laura
I need to handle the wildcard redirects in another way. Would you please:
- Add all the basic redirects (the ones that don't have a wildcard) using Redirects on msi.dev.umn.edu
- Share the redirects spreadsheet with me here quickly?
Robyn
thanks Ian
Robyn
at last haha
Ian P.
:) all set?
Robyn
Jim is happy so going to gooi with a 4pm on our side
Robyn
Oh my word, I am too slow
Robyn
we have arua from 3-4 and Jim is possibly not available at 4pm - 5h30pm - I know its late but are happy with a 5h30 pm meeting
Robyn
never mind - see he has responded :)
Robyn
4-5 PM CDT hour - is that the same as Minnesota time? If so, that's 23h00 on our side so going to say hell no
Ian Parsons Ian
- might be that he misunderstood and it's 4pm our time> Please let me know if you spot something obvious
Robyn
Ian Parsons Ian
MSI is looking great, still one or two tasks left but well done - it's looking very ready to share by Friday.
Robyn
I will go with what you say here but this feels weird to me - they need to add the login link themselves? if so, I dont think this is going to fly but not sure if I am confused - will share the agenda with you soon
Ian P.
Yes
Laura Hurley Laura
- we don't need a button for that 👍
Robyn
I see we do not and we do have a task, I have added a bit more detail for context - thanks peeps
Robyn
`dankie!
Ian Parsons Ian
I am checking tasks now but don't think we have the new form at the bottom of the pages sorted yet right?
Laura H.
Ok! with you guys now.
Ian Parsons Ian
but if Admin wants to login, then they should just add /login to the URL?
Ian P.
We don't really need that admin login; if you know, you know :)
Ian P.
One button links to a page on the archive site, and the other is a link to login to the MSI site.
Ian P.
They're not the same button.
Robyn
This request " My thought is maybe we create a landing page on the archive site with instructions for logging in on the archive site to manage their group. Perhaps then we could rename the "Login" button in the top right of the new site to something like "Manage MSI Group" that navigates to the instruction page on the archive site." Noting the other request and email from Jim "I believe that moving the Login button from the top of the home page to the footer, and renaming it "Admin Login" (prob. in smaller font, it does not need to be a large button/link) is probably the best option."  "
Robyn
Then Jim said move it and now we have this request so I am not sure if its the same button but seems like it might be
Robyn
  • No existing user account matches the SAML ID provided. This authentication service is not configured to create new accounts."" error on login". This is expected behaviour; let us know if we should add additional users for testing purposes. No need to add additional users at this point, I think. Perhaps it is indicative of a wider question though: the current Login button logs someone into the site using their UMN account, as if they were going to edit the website. On the live site, will this simply allow anyone to log in? In the long run, this will likely be a link to the new Coldfront portal to access their user groups, but in the meantime, @Jim Ferguson is there a reason we need a site login for all users?
Robyn
Lau  - the details are on the emails  - but here's a copy of the Admin request
Laura H.
Would they be separate logins? So, one for Admin and one for PI's? Or, should that be the same login? Sorry struggling to catch on here, haha
Ian P.
One or both of those buttons. And if one, which one.
Ian P.
I think they must just make that decision
Robyn
Sarah's mail was after Jim's but I think they are flying fast and not considering how their requests affect each other
Robyn
these feel like conflicting plans to me so wanted to check with you and add to the agenda as needed

hopefully Jim and Sarah wrap up feedback this week. Our second MSI contract comes to an end Mid April 🚨 1 month to go with a few public hols in the mix so want to make sure we get this wrapped up now.
