Development of the new IIB website

✨ More scope creep (to discuss)

Dear Robyn

Following our conversation this morning, We would be putting the upcoming call for the Korea in the funding calls not the fellowship but we need to still figure out the text, so we would be providing you with the text in the coming days.

As for the collaboration page, Can we go for a map like this
https://www.ugent.be/en/ghentuniv/mission/internationalisation/eu-funding/bilateral.htm

and then a table like this?

Countries | Partner Institutions | Focus
South Korea | SNUKIST |
Germany | Kiel University |

Where the partner institutions is hyper linked to the original website of the university in that country

  • Other scope creep - don't have the link to to publications in projects (below link)
  • Doesn't want to add content to ongoing projects, wants the header and a list of projects only - content effort - does it make sense though
  • Wants a profile for herself because she does not have a link to a profile anywhere else

All of this needs to be discussed so I can message what needs to happen properly - regret having standups as I believe we are working with someone who does not understand scope of work and keeps changing her mind - need to find a good way to overcome this keeping the client happy without creating challenges and unnecessary costs for us

Hi Patricia

Thanks for your email. We have two options at this point.

1. Pause all the work we are doing and re-quote you to include all the current changes you have requested. (changes like removing certain items and adding them to new areas / rethinking some of the design choices we have made, adding a profile for you, rethinking elements for the collaborations page and reconsidering the design /map, possible language additions/ considerations) We'd need to requote you including an edited design and prototype to show the changes you want to make, get approval on costs, then rework / add to the development what we have done.  This will result in the site being delayed and the delay is not predictable at this point in time because we are not sure what will need to change to give your website users a good experience, how long approval will take, how many reverts we'll need to do and what will need to be redone / added to / enhanced in terms of development.

OR

2. Continue with the signed-off prototype development which is about 75% done and put all the recent requests into a phase 2 list.
It is highly likely you will want more changes as the project and requirements change once you get clarity on how this new department is going to work;. With that in mind, we'd suggest you use the site when we are done, living with it and using it will clarify what changes you want and need, then move forward with phase 2 and a new contract.

We'd highly recommend option 2 but do let us know what you think and we'll take it from there.

Thanks, Patricia

Kind regards

Robyn
