Rodneys comment from social: Gikko provides UNICEF in Zimbabwe with comprehensive two-way SMS messaging solutions.Through the use of registered shortcodes, UNICEF is able to conduct programmes intended to have a positive social impact in Zimbabwe, specifically their WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) programme.
Through the deployment of our solutions, we are able to provide first class messaging solutions both locally and globally bringing UNICEF closer to Rural and Urban Zimbabwe and giving the community information promoting best practices while answering FAQs, all for free to the end user.

UNICEF has an existing database of users (reporters) and or attracts new users to the service via outbound SMS. The platform is principally used for reporting.
The user interacts with the WASH SMS service by sending “WASH” to a ShortCode - 33800.
Thereafter the user is invited to report on
1) "Newly drilled water point"
2) "Communal water-point"
3) “your village’s household WASH”
4) “your school”
5) “You health institution”
The two-way SMS flow allows the user to submit information that permits UNICEF to build a better picture of what is happening out in the field in real time, which then in turn informs it how best to allocate its resources.
As Gikko our only role is provide the platform connectivity to the 3 mobile networks in Zim. We don’t get involved in promoting the service etc.

thanks

- had a quick check of the newsletter and it looks good. I think the articles are relevant and we don't need a lot seeing as its a do good kinda jol, If we we could drive donations as I see there's a donation section on the page https://www.unicef.org/zimbabwe/take-action Not sure we need to but if it is an option (but might then be seen as a drive for money vs sharing the good work )
I am stretching my brain for a blog topic that makes sense here - the newsletter theme makes sense but for blogs on the site, it needs to come off as a Gikko Cares kinda thing without sounding too braggy as that defeats the purpose

not sure where we at here but we need to send Win a test - because the content is not gikko focused, maybe we can skip the blog for the newsletter - not sure how you feel about that - we'd still need to do one but it will buy a little time if we can get it done by Friday (assuming you are not working on this already!)

Awesome, I quickly created an image with Adobe Firefly to go with it (check it - added to the doc above). Gonna send on to Win and Rod, with a mailer test as well - one time

I found this article under news on the wash link that is a nice one to add so if you want another one check this out https://www.unicef.org/stories/water-and-climate-change-10-things-you-should-know It has nothing to do with Gikko but explains how these things work together
