Here are two potential versions:

Option 1: Video (±1min) with an extended write-up for additional context in the form of a blog (as Lori suggested).
Option 2: Longer video (>2min) using Lori's script and guidelines with added interview snippets providing more insight into how GEMS operates.

With budget constraints, we'll focus our efforts on one of these approaches. Which option aligns best?

For Option 1, we are curious about:
  • The shareability of the video with an extended write-up.
  • The feasibility of housing the video in a blog post and whether this might present any challenges with potential obsolescence over time.
Regarding Option 2, Ian has suggested that the longer video, with the inclusion of interview snippets, could be a valuable standalone piece and one that can be included in blog posts as well.

Hi everyone

Please have a look at the proposed post below and let me know if that's good to go, thanks.

We're excited to spotlight our team members, @Phil Pardey and @Yuan Chai, leading the project "Linking soybean aphid losses to technology investment decisions," one of the 13 funded MITPPC projects.

Hi Phil,
Here's a first pass at this -- I'm not an expert at videos, so am hoping Matogen can find this useful if you like the general direction. I'm happy to do whatever else you may need, just let me know. Safe travels and talk when you get back. Thank you! Best, Lori

  • OTC –Licensing for GEMS Grid, openly accessible
  • Laura to look at heading levels on blog posts, needs more balance

  • Kris: No reference for what we have in the interviews to draw on
  • State legislature is their main target. So these cats need and want detail. We just need to hook them in the first 15 sec
  • Phil has a powerpoint with slides he wants to share that could be used in the video
  • Voice over by Brad from MDA

Laura Hurley, Designer, UX and Engagement Specialist at Matogen Digital Laura I'm not sure that we should do voice-overs. It's going to delay this project badly.

Could we use titles to convey the message instead, with music in the background interspersed with interview clips?
