DSI PHASE 2

Production: https://dsi.umn.edu/ Dev: https://dsi.dev.umn.edu/

Webinars category build out

Assigned to
David Mundell, Developer at Matogen Digital David M.
Due on
Notes
The webinars category is not fleshed out:
  • It needs the same treatment as all the other categories – landing page, linked in the menu, buttons to go between other categories, etc.
  • Use placeholder content for this
Let me know if this is something I can tackle David Mundell, Developer at Matogen Digital David  – happy to give it a go and see if I can wrap it up, let me know.

Thanks Laura Hurley, Designer, UX and Engagement Specialist at Matogen Digital Laura ,
I created this https://dsi.dev.umn.edu/events/webinars so long.

I am gonna need to look into making the category buttons in another way because currently they are hard coded. This does not seem feasible going forward. I might chat to Ian if he knows a quick way otherwise I will try and work something out :)
Laura Hurley, Designer, UX and Engagement Specialist at Matogen Digital 🔥 Let me know!

Laura Hurley, Designer, UX and Engagement Specialist at Matogen Digital Laura & Ian Parsons, Head Chef at Matogen Digital Ian  i see this happened yesterday and its now sitting on the menu - it is not in scope as it was not on the design and I didn;t ask Hayley about it yesterday. It's there now so please let me know what you suggest as a next step here
Ian Parsons, Head Chef at Matogen Digital
This is how I think about it:
  • Changes to content can generally be allowed, except if it will require significant additional content uploading time
  • Changes from the design that require additional development is scope creep
  • Changes from any previous decision that the client approved is scope creep, whether the change is big or small
  • When we are close to handing over to a client, even small changes should be put on hold

Apologies for jumping the gun. Shall we park this as it is? The page is there but empty, and linked in the menu. Hayley would need to provide content to flesh it out, but not sure what it will take to remove it now (cuz hardcode, etc.)

Laura Hurley, Designer, UX and Engagement Specialist at Matogen Digital Laura  running at high speed and trying to get stuff done so good intentions always - I am just not sure what I need to say or do at this point so need some guidance  - all the post we have for this are data voyages posts so my sense is get rid of it but i am open to suggestion and really want to know what;s going to take the least amount of time and effort. I didn't realise the impact of the webinar taxonomy conversation a few days ago so will take that as my learning here - I thought it was just a tag

Robyn, Project Manager at Matogen Digital Robyn Laura Hurley, Designer, UX and Engagement Specialist at Matogen Digital Laura I don't think this is a big change, and I agree the default should be to getting things done 👍 It's fine if we cross over into grey areas like this.

If we can get it in this afternoon still, let's do it, otherwise let's leave it off until we have stuff to post in here.
