Rohan Strydom Rohan  this does not match up with what is needed - I'd like to be able to select a specific post vs a resource type for the home page  please take a look at the design to see what I mean, your approach here is too broad and fits one part of the picture - it is useful to be able to select which types of resources but we need more please

Then I am a bit confused 😕 The previous functionality allowed you to choose a specific post, and from what I am understanding that it is what you want still? Can you perhaps make me another video please?

Robyn, Project Manager at Matogen Digital Robyn Rohan Strydom Rohan - I might confuse matters more now: in this section, the content editor should be able to add posts from a variety of post types, including News and Events, Resources, and People. You will note in the design one of the examples is a scientist spotlight:

We could simplify this to just News and Events and Resources – it might make more sense to feature scientists / people in a news post, and will make it easier to code this section.

Ian Parsons, Head Chef at Matogen Digital Ian all we need is news posts, events and resources (all types). The scientist spotlight is a news post or a resource post of sorts. The people part is not something we need to pull in, the design is a bit confusing because its about a person but its really just a news / event post or a resource post about a specific scientist.

This was not working before so I asked Rohan to fix it because it was NOT possible to select a post Rohan Strydom Rohan  . I don't know where the wires got crossed but what we need is:

The ability to select any resource post, event or news post into the "FROM OUR DESK" feed on the home page.

Right, I think what made me deurmekaar :-) is the word "feed". This to me says that we do a query get the 3 latest posts and display them.

What I understand now is that you want the option to choose 3 items from news/events/resources to appear on the homepage.

So it's 3 dropdowns, and each dropdown contains a list of all the posts under news/events/resources.

Is that correct? Ian Parsons, Head Chef at Matogen Digital Ian Robyn, Project Manager at Matogen Digital Robyn

Robyn completed this to-do.
