| David M. |
Ok, if I understand this correctly she would like the new change but then use the full Arua logo in the menu area?
| Robyn |
Arua-SFS is the main identity of the site,so for that reason, I wouldn't use just the ARUA icon when the other two logos are used in full. The placement can work though. I have been very busy with Wordworks, will make the Hosted by Svg now |

Going to place this in the ticket as well

Thanks Dave, as long as it looks like the design, we can move forward with this and ask Roule for an new svg
| David M. |
Next to the logo or perhaps below the links.
| David M. | ||
| David M. |
We can then place it in the dropdown. I think we still want the image with the text on it. It will be best that it scales correctly

can we make it work or shall I ask her to give it us ?

more space to play with

In the footer area the logo is larger:
| David M. | ||
| David M. |
on the smallest mobile screen 320px this is what it looks like
| David M. |
The other issue is even the logos becomes squished and unreadable

Yes I will become squished however everything will become squished on mobile even if we added it ourselves

Quickly spoke to Roule about Arua, I will pass this on as well but she mentioned that thought the Funded by part would fit into dev - if we add it to the logo she is worried it will squash when you look at it on mobile - please let me know what our options are for this

Hi Robyn, Thanks for checking in. I have received quite detailed feedback, which I have collated below )at least there parts for your attention - a lot of it I will have to implement). If the "structural" changes are not doable at this stage, please let me know. Or if they take a bit longer to implement, Prof. Swanepoel has indicated he would still be happy if the site launches by the 25th. The first point below is a change he has requested and feels quite strongly about: 1. On the "Our Team", "Core team" page, Prof. Swanepoel would like an additional tab added to the right of Coordination Team called "Researchers". This tab will be for certain researchers considered part of the "core team" and therefore he doesn't merely want them to appear under "Collaborating Researchers". There are specific people he has instructed me to add to that tab, and there are others that need to be "reshuffled" between the three tabs. Could you please confirm: a) Is it possible to add the additional tab? (b) How/where do I add and remove people from these three tabs - I do not see any place to do that when I go into an individual person's profile under "People". 2. For the "Our impact" icons at the bottom of the home page, is it possible to have the name of the impact area under the icon? Unless you click on the icon, you won't have an overview of the impact areas and one might not have the interest or realise that the icons need to be clicked on to see the information on the different impact areas. 3. Under our partners - It seems a bit redundant to have the project name and then the partners listed with the other projects they are linked to below in the grey blocks. Would it not be easier to digest to leave out the project names and just have the partner logos and names with the grey blocks below to indicate all the projects that they are affiliated with? Then each partner is only listed once and the page is shorter and less busy. There is a lot of repetition on the page and the content is not easy to digest. 4. Under "Our Researchers" it shows that all researchers are involved in ALL the projects, despite the correct projects being attached to their individual profiles. Not sure how to fix this. 5. For the voicenotes, can they be re-ordered (two or three next to each other), so one doesn't have to scroll down so much? 6. On the individual partner pages, can the white block with logo and name please be at the top and widened, then the description placed beneath (same as the white block above - stretching the whole/or most of the width of the page). Hope these are "doable"! I will still be working on updating/adding content for the first few days of next week. Thanks Esley
| Robyn |
Arua update, I will work through this and hope that the team got their boss involved with the prototype sign-off as there's out of scope requests here

Categories and tags are both used to organise content on a website, but they serve different purposes: Categories
Example: A blog about cooking might have categories like "Appetisers," "Main Courses," "Desserts," and "Recipes by Cuisine." Tags
Example: A recipe for a chocolate cake might have tags like "chocolate," "cake," "dessert," "birthday," and "gluten-free."

I will have a quick look and see what is going on

I pushed some changes to stage: Resource video now shows and is styled to look like the featured image. The form is styled to be responsive (A few mobile tweaks still needed). On mobile I added the show and hide filter. I assume show and hide doesn't work on desktop. if it does it is a quick fix. I am probably going to run to gym soon and then come back to do a bit more 🏃♂️➡️

I think it's fine if there are lots of partners; either way, it's going to be a bit of scrolling to see them all :)
| Robyn |
Hey
| Ian P. |
- Display project partners in a modal. When the user clicks on the underlined link, the modal opens up over the same page - Display project partners at the bottom of the page content, above the impact areas. When the user clicks on the underlined link, the page scrolls down to the partners section |

Perhaps I was a bit hasty in copying things across to the new site for ARUA. Let me think this through.

Yes.

| Dylan C. |
I just read your comment again
| Dylan C. |
What about something like the above? So the content starts next to the image, then wraps under it. So image will sit in the top left of each funder block
| Dylan C. | ||
| Dylan C. |
| Robyn | ||
| Robyn |
And then on the tablet and mobile size we keep the logo the same size, but let the text flow under it. Does that make solve the issue?"
| Dylan C. |
I agree with David. I'll make the changes mentioned and we can see how it looks
| David M. | Maybe we should do a test to see what it will look like with all that content. We can then supply a screenshot of how it will look | |
| Robyn | ||
| Robyn |
Hi Robyn The logo isn’t meant to be placed in circle – the circle you see on the design was a logo image placeholder – Sorry about that confusion. I think all logos should be cropped to a square, can you pass them to me so I can do them as a set? As far as possible logos should have a white background if they have one available,see below. Then I think we can keep the desktop version as is, but with less space between the logo and the text. And then on the tablet and mobile size we keep the logo the same size, but let the text flow under it. Does that make solve the issue?
| Robyn |
On the funders story, feedback from Roule - this makes sense to me so think we can go with it but do let me know if you have a different opinion
| Laura H. |
Funders links all updated 🙌
| Robyn |
Its a variety feast and imagine that will always be the case , I can add it in for Esley on her gap document but suspect its going to be a challenge for them so I think option two for the win - happy to chat about it tomorrow morning
| Robyn |
Thank you!
| Ian P. |
Ok - in that case:
- We can either ask the client to crop all of their portrait images into landscape format) - Or, we can try to put portrait images into a gallery so that they are displayed alongside each other. This will work for 2 or 3 images, or any combination where we don't end up with a single portrait image in a row |
| David M. | ||
| David M. |
In the XD the images are slightly outside the content area:
| Ian P. |
Use the XD file as a guide here.
| Ian P. |
Just to clarify - did the content save correctly when you loaded it?
| Ian P. |
- portrait images will always look very big. We would generally add styling for landscape orientation images, and set image width based on that. A portrait image with the same width will be very tall, like you see in your example - we can and should add CSS to improve how these images are displayed. At the least, the images should be the same width as the text above it. |
| Robyn |
| David M. |
Sounds good!, It will be better on the call so we can look at different options
| Robyn |
we can brief the client on image sizes but it would be good to have some dev to try and help it along - happy to chat about all of this tomorrow
| Robyn |
right, so we need to have a better understanding of the image sizes / cater for it in the code somehow (much like the gallery convo I guess) ?
| David M. |
Yes this one would be an image issue. The image is portrait and not landscape. The image itself is not wide enough and if we were to style that one to fit it would be distorted
| Robyn |
the cover at the top is all funky
| Robyn |
for resources - is this a styling issue or a backend issue https://arua.storiesandscience.co.za/resource/standardising-traditional-recipes-to-improve-community-nutrition-and-well-being-an-fsnet-africa-project-in-northern-ghana/

Morning! I can see you responded on the task. Capacity Building - Training opportunities - ARUA-SFS - I am not sure how to load it and it looks like the reason for that is that its not built yet :)
| Rohan S. | To be 100% clear about this, can you send me a link please where I can see it not working? | |
| Robyn |
Thanks Ian, not sure if we are on the same page - do you mean a link to another site in the description?
| Robyn | ||
| Ian P. |
It looks like we need to add a link. We're using blocks for these pages, so we should be able to add a link without any hassle.
| Dylan C. |
Need a bit of guidance on these impact areas rows. David pointed out that they are siting on the edge of the screen in the XD file. But on the site currently there is a space on the left and right.
It's fine to have them sitting on the edge for everything up to XXL screens, then it starts to look a bit funny. Should I make it full width up until XXL? Or just leave it full width? Can use Our Projects as an example... https://xd.adobe.com/view/6a431f10-e8b0-4283-9cff-111bcdf4df6c-3f10/screen/c6fb0418-8adb-4645-bd3e-a447bc48caa3/ |

| Robyn |
| Robyn |
thanks
| David M. |
Okay yes lets chat about this one in the morning. Just getting my head around it. I didnt know those links existed
| David M. |
I see this one is hardcoded
| David M. | ||
| Robyn |
I am happy for you to park this so we can discuss tomorrow morning - I know its a lot and its a bit confusing
| Robyn |
the others, have been done by arua and they have all the details so the green text says click here to read more vibes and then takes you to a full debrief of the project
| Robyn |
Some projects have been done with arua under a different umbrella and for those we are currently linking out to another site (but Ian wants me to flag this)
| David M. |
oh sorry I see what you are saying now that I am looking at the code
| Robyn |
There are two types of projects for the site
| Robyn |
yes, that's what i was flagging with you
| David M. |
Is the green text the project URL or the outgoing links? at the moment the green text is the project website
| Robyn |
I suspect the wording will be the same for all - so find out more about the project, which only allows you to click through to the project on the arua site and from there you click out to other sites
| Robyn |
Thanks
| David M. |
| Robyn |
if so we can change the green wording to something more suitable like this wording here
| Robyn | ||
| Robyn | ||
| Robyn |
are we going to keep that green wording in place as the click through and move these links that are not working anyhow to the body of the post where people can click through?
| Robyn | ||
| Robyn |
the wording that pulls through to the front should not be hard coded
| Robyn |
If you look at this post https://arua.storiesandscience.co.za/wp-admin/post.php?post=338&action=edit
| Robyn |
I can go back to Roule and Ronel (very late in the game but can) and more importantly what I am loading in the back is not happening in the front
| Robyn |
ok
| David M. |
Sorry i didn't see the message. So we will wait for feedback? It will be quiet confusing for the user navigating the site.
| Ian P. |
- Because that link is more prominent than the linked title, I'm worried people will miss the link to the actual project. - I think the experience should be consistent. It won't work to have some of those links go to an external site, and others go to a page on the ARUA site. - We can rather find a space for the external link on the actual project page |
| Robyn | ||
| Robyn | ||
| Robyn |
The content document might help - Feed, Project, Care Global Colaborative PHD platform only has a short description and when you click on the link, it should take you to the project on another site
| Robyn |
How has this been put together?
| Robyn |
Some projects you click through to other sites, some you click through on our site to read more
| Robyn |

suspect the people space needs to be expanded so you can say what the role is per project

partners space for reference right at the bottom "role" https://xd.adobe.com/view/3cd9bca9-889d-46bf-97e0-b2993538211b-698a/screen/6e55c1d3-1a4c-4a21-8acc-9959ff6d309b

| Laura H. |
Regarding tagging Resources with associated Projects, would it not be easier from a usability point of view to select the project in the post itself? Now, when loading posts, one would then need to go to the project after the fact and tag the Resource Post.
This is possible in News posts currently and makes uploading quicker. |
| Robyn | ||
| Robyn |
| Laura H. |
Re voice notes, Roh can then ignore that one 😬
| Laura H. |
re what should be News vs Resources. The News posts (https://universityofpretoria.glasscubes.com/share/s/smp3igngsnkptol85s84e7mlub?0) these are News posts, right?
The Blogs and Videos, |

| Robyn |
ps I am seeing news and events now -not sure if I missed it or what (but didnt notice it when Dave and I went through everything yesterday)
| Robyn |
Coolio, I loaded the individual elements not the page so not sure how we landed here but thanks for fixing
| Ian P. |
When I look in the backend on that page, the wrong template was chosen: Collaborating Researchers, instead of Project Partners. I've chosen the right template now and it looks like the correct info is now pulling through. It does still need to be styled |
| Robyn |
I cannot click on funders in the footer - the actual individual pages need front end love but the overview page I cannot view and suspect it looks like the partners jumble you see at the top here
| Robyn | ||
| Robyn |
I shared a link to the partners page
| Robyn |
Hey Roh, its the filter I am referring to - not sure how it works or where to load anything for both news and events that have a filter (I removed my calendar brain fart)
| Rohan S. |
Events probably need some more loving. The only layout I can see for EVENTS is https://xd.adobe.com/view/3cd9bca9-889d-46bf-97e0-b2993538211b-698a/screen/6a732961-1c5d-4224-bd03-a1d1409dbea1/specs/, and there is no indication of a calendar filter. I am assuming then I need to add an event date, is there anything else that needs to be added to EVENTS apart from an event date?
Can you show me what is wrong with the Funders and Partners pages please? |
| Robyn |
Lets do it, we just need to keep the unfold meeting quick - its scheduled till 11h15
| Ian P. |
Let's have a quick ARUA standup -

We were never sure how many stories would get added, but I think 5 as supplied is good. As to how many could potentially be added, we wanted input from the developer as to what might be possible here. Is it possible to hide dots and lines? Do we perhaps need a quick check in about this? We did not supply assests as it might change , depending on how the developer goes about this task" |
| Robyn | ||

Hey team - so i have asked the unfold ladies to confirm how voicenotes will work when we have more than five - we have five at this stage that will need to fit into the circles Content notes - ARUA-SFS

Oh cool beans. That's a nice clean approach 👍

If it's this page, we intended for it to be built with Gutenberg blocks: Blocks Page > Our Impact - ARUA-SFS. For that to work, we need the impact areas function to also be available as a shortcode. We can then add the shortcode as a block on the page

Sweden was cold, rainy and expensive :-) But I had a good time, the people are very friendly. And yes, now I am in Cyprus. What a beautiful place it is!

For some reason, the animation effect is not working properly. So please note that the circle and arrow are turning from one subheading to another. The accordion slides open. Let me know iof there is anything else you need."

Here are the updated XD link to show design for the new countries pages. This one is for desktop.
This oneis for mobile. I’ve saved the SVG map files in here. I’ve also sent Esley the png examples. Will probably hear fom her tomorrow, but I don’t forsee any issues.

sorry missed this so double messages coming through - soz

| Rohan S. | I am not sure how the svg’s work Ian. Can we assign background colours to each country? I assume@we can since we can apply a css style to it. But I am just guessing here. | |
| Ian P. |
We are trying to figure out how to do the map. If I manage to get all 195 countries of the world on their own layer, will you be able to code each country in their specific colour under the impact area? Then we basically just give you a grey map with all the countries on their own layer and you do the different colours on your side? Then if there is a country added to their list, it can be colourised on your side? Figuring out how we can make it easy for you before I start the process. |

We imagined them as static pngs (I can make them up if I can get the info on which countries every programme was launched) . Or if the developers can switch svgs on and off like we did for the Osisa project? Let me know what I can make up for you. Regards Ronel

"Sorry to request this at this late stage, but could we please combine the keyword and topic filters into one? It is very difficult to distinguish between these two and not very useful, I think."

Hallo Ian & Robyn Please find the link here for the mobile infographic. I only did 3 of the 6. Let me know if you need me to build the other 3 as well. I wasn’t sure if you would need all of them seeing that they are based on the same recipe.
Here is the link for the desktop version. I’ve updated all the icons. You can find them here. There are two icon versions:
I’ve updated them on the ARUA SFS Website Layout XD file. Roulé, can you please update the link and send it again? Please let me know if something is missing or unclear. Thank you! Ronel

Hi Ian and Robyn I am loading assets for ARUA in this folder For all artwork, please use this folder, rather than grabbing from the XD file. Thanks
