Ian Parsons, Head Chef at Matogen Digital Ian   this is happening because News and Events is the default WordPress posts in this case, so WordPress does not add anything to the URL, as it does not see it as a custom post type. The only option really is to do this: https://arua.storiesandscience.co.za/wp-admin/options-permalink.php

The drawback is that we have to choose to either go for /news or /events, there is no intelligence built in to know which one to add to the URL.

Is this ok for you?

Thanks Rohan Strydom Rohan   Ian Parsons, Head Chef at Matogen Digital Ian  your thoughts here please - if its not physically possible then maybe just news and events without the next part can work? I dont think it makes sense to have news and events and then a fixed events or news as it is one or the other - I'd rather drop the last part but not the expert here

Robyn, Project Manager at Matogen Digital Robyn  I've opted to use the category name as part of the URL. Please check that this works once we have a couple of real posts in there.

Robyn, Project Manager at Matogen Digital Robyn this will only work if the post has one category. It bombs out if there are more categories selected.

I think we should rather use tags if they need more filtering options.
Robyn, Project Manager at Matogen Digital okie dokie Tks !
