HI David Mundell, Developer at Matogen Digital David we have some work incoming for Arua - we have 5 hours in total to complete this work.

We need to make the header sticky and implement the logo additions in the header and footer

Note that its option 1 on the first slide (the green button is incorrectly labelled)

I am getting the assets from Unfold but incoming for you for next week.

Updates have been pushed to the repo. I need to wait and see if this is still the dev environment: https://arua_cw.storiesandscience.co.za/

Hey Robyn, Project Manager at Matogen Digital Robyn ,
I have pushed some updates to stage. I am manually pushing the changes. The last update is not reflecting yet but it will hopefully show soon
Robyn, Project Manager at Matogen Digital lekker, thanks!

David Mundell, Developer at Matogen Digital David  feedback from the client - please see below

Dear Robyn,

Thanks very much for this. Just three points to note:
  • In the Xd example, the spacing between the menu items and the logos on either side is even and symmetrical, but in the WordPress version, there is a much bigger space between the ARUA-SFS logo on the left and the wording of the first menu item (Impact Areas) but almost no space on the far right between the UP/FA logo and the last menu item (News and Events). Is there a way to adjust this so that the "white space" between the logos and the nearest menu item is even on both sides? In other words, to look as it does in the Xd version.
  • The words "HOSTED BY" must please appear above the centre line of the lock-up logo both in the header and footer (as shown in the Xd version, but missing from the WordPress version).
  • Please remember that the UP/FA logo must be clickable in both the header and the footer and lead to the following web page: https://www.up.ac.za/future-africa/

Hey Robyn, Project Manager at Matogen Digital Robyn

Thanks for the feedback, lets see what I can do. I wasn't aware of the link and I can add that quickly.

Is it possible to have the SVG logo to contain the text hosted by. I used the logo they provided but we need the text to come with so it can scale if its resized.
Robyn, Project Manager at Matogen Digital
thanks David Mundell, Developer at Matogen Digital David no worries, I should have waited for Unfold to check but had a quick look and thought it was great so shared it - lesson learned 🫠 hopefully haha - I will request a logo that includes the hosted by - the design was not clear on linking out - it was mentioned by the client but not on the design and I certainly didn't remember to tell you so not your fault

All good thanks Robyn, Project Manager at Matogen Digital Robyn   πŸ™πŸΌ

Robyn, Project Manager at Matogen Digital
David Mundell, Developer at Matogen Digital David I have moved this task to the Arua space seeing as you are getting other tasks there as well -
Going to give you testing feedback separately

Hey Robyn, Project Manager at Matogen Digital Robyn ,

I spoke to Ian Parsons, Head Chef at Matogen Digital Ian about the logos. Adding the full Arua logo to the mobile menu slider gives us the same issue. We are moving the problem to a different area. I suggested this change and took some time to make sure it works correctly responsively:

You can also view the change on stage:
https://arua_cw.storiesandscience.co.za/

Please let me know your thoughts πŸ™‚
Robyn, Project Manager at Matogen Digital Thanks Dave

David Mundell, Developer at Matogen Digital David Ian Parsons, Head Chef at Matogen Digital Ian I don't understand this feedback as the spacing looks fine to me but want to make sure before I go back to her again - I don't think its cache'd because she didnt mention hosted by so I think she is seeing the correct view - "

Please also ask Esley to provide a screenshot if she is still seeing the issue. Difficult to interpret feedback if we are not sure she is seeing the same thing as us.
Robyn, Project Manager at Matogen Digital
Thanks Ian Parsons, Head Chef at Matogen Digital Ian  - will do
Robyn, Project Manager at Matogen Digital
this reaks of politics but anyhow, please let me know what is possible- when people bring out the rulers, it does my head in - how does this spacing make any difference to this site - 🫠

Easy to fix. At least now I understand what she means!

I also noticed the menu items are lowercase. On the design they are uppercase. David Mundell, Developer at Matogen Digital David  would you check the fonts as well, please?
Robyn, Project Manager at Matogen Digital YAY!
Ian Parsons, Head Chef at Matogen Digital
David Mundell, Developer at Matogen Digital David  if you move the Hosted By image out of the menu container, it should automatically align spacing.

Great I will jump on to this now.

  1. Fonts uppercase
  2. Move logo out of dev for the justify content to adjust the spacing

I made a similar change yesterday for the md size πŸ‘ŒπŸΌ

Robyn, Project Manager at Matogen Digital Tks!

Update on stage:
https://arua_cw.storiesandscience.co.za/

Took a bit longer then I expected.

The uppercase font cause the menu to break because of the limited space. I had to make it a little smaller.

Moving the logo also had a few styling issues that I didn't plan for, however I made it show for a bit longer before it disappears. I think it makes it look a bit better

Thanks David Mundell, Developer at Matogen Digital David  - its definitely added more space - going to share with the client and see if it passes! :)
Ian Parsons, Head Chef at Matogen Digital
Robyn, Project Manager at Matogen Digital Robyn David Mundell, Developer at Matogen Digital David sorry to be a fly in the drinkwater here – I don't think this will pass with RoulΓ© and Ronel. Compared to the design I still think we're not hitting the mark.

Might be quickest to do a quick video call to get it right?
Robyn, Project Manager at Matogen Digital
Ian Parsons, Head Chef at Matogen Digital Ian Roule didn't have an issue with the version I shared with Esley, she messaged me to say she is happy - (yesterday before Esleys feedback)

I am happy to jump on a call but note that I have shared with Esley already
Ian Parsons, Head Chef at Matogen Digital
If RoulΓ© and Esley are both happy with the current version, then we're good!
Robyn, Project Manager at Matogen Digital
I have not shared todays edits with Roule coz she was happy yesterday already, its just Esley that we need to hear from with the latest version - sorry I didnt wait for you - hopefully Esley is happy this time - if you are seeing something off, she is prob not going to be but lets see what she says πŸ™ˆ
Ian Parsons, Head Chef at Matogen Digital
I'm specifically mentioning RoulΓ© because the size of the images and menu items do not match up with the design, whereas previously they were closer to her design. The change from lowercase to uppercase meant that David had to make the menu items smaller, but they now look very small in comparison with the logos.
Robyn, Project Manager at Matogen Digital
Got it, will share with her as well for another check Ian Parsons, Head Chef at Matogen Digital Ian   apologies for the confusion
Robyn, Project Manager at Matogen Digital
Robyn completed this to-do.
