Hi everyone,

Hope you are doing well today - thanks for your time last week, Karen, Lesego and Hanan. Apologies that I was not there but I know that you had a good chat with Ronel and Ian!

We had a quick internal catch-up to chat about capacity, timelines and what we need to move forward with the project.

One of our challenges is to make sure that we don't overwhelm users with too much information on the home page.
We wanted to ask your thoughts on the following site:  https://www.nature.org/en-us/ We love how its structured and are thinking of doing something similar for you in terms of organisation. Do you like it?

We also want to ask you for any information including content that you may have available for partners / country and the home page so we can get a sense of the copy / information you are wanting to add. As you mentioned with the current Explorer section, content became a blocker so we want to make sure what we build matches what you have in mind for content.

Please share the partner links and any other information you have available. Regarding adding additional features to the newsletter feed on the website; we are using Mailchimp to pull in newsletter subject and/or title and date, but we don't have the ability to assign an image to each newsletter in Mailchimp.

If you would prefer displaying an image for each newsletter, we could create each newsletter as a post on the website, and link to the newsletter archive from the post. This would mean a bit more work on your side so please let us know your thoughts.

As it stands, if we move onto prototyping early January, we'd usually need at least 4 - 5 weeks for that process including 1 revert and quick sign off - this time can be doubled + if there's more reverts and  lengthy sign-off.  Development can only start once those prototype is signed off and content is available to populate the new sections of your website.

Dependent on how long that process takes, you can expect another 10 -12 weeks for dev, assuming all content is ready, excluding reverts and testing. If we keep the timing tight and try to anticipate resource requirements, you can expect this website update to go live round about May.

Summary of Actions mentioned above:
  • Thoughts on nature website structure
  • Sharing prepared content including partner links, country information / story that is intended for maps and country pages, any other useful content pieces
  • Thoughts on recreating newsletters as posts on your website

Thanks so much,

Kind regards
Robyn
